Helping children and families understand, grow, and thrive.

Joshua Ireland, Ph.D.

Dr. Joshua Ireland, Ph.D., has extensive training in psychological assessment and evidence-based therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. His background includes cognitive, educational, and social-emotional evaluations, therapeutic support, and structured group programming in school and clinical settings. Dr. Ireland is currently working toward licensure and is not yet licensed. At this time, the services he offers independently are limited to non-clinical, skills-based social skills coaching and executive functioning coaching and are not psychotherapy or psychological treatment.

His areas of focus include supporting neurodiverse individuals, especially those with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and gifted or twice-exceptional profiles, as well as students and adults seeking to strengthen performance, emotional resilience, and personal growth through practical, skills-oriented support.

Since 2019, Dr. Ireland has trained and practiced across a range of mental health settings, including inpatient and outpatient care, court-related and foster-care assessments, and community mental health programs. This work included comprehensive evaluations and therapy completed within supervised training environments.

Dr. Ireland’s coaching services are structured, goal-oriented, and educational in nature. Sessions emphasize practical tools, guided practice, and feedback to help clients build social confidence, flexibility, perspective-taking, organization, time management, planning, and self-regulation skills that support success at school, work, and home.

With an academic foundation in both philosophy and psychology, Dr. Ireland brings analytical depth, warmth, and a collaborative, strengths-based style to his work. His approach is informed by evidence-based frameworks, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which shape how he teaches skills and supports growth in coaching contexts.

A Bay Area native, he values culturally responsive care and the diversity of the communities he serves. Outside of work, Dr. Ireland is happiest spending time with his family, whether helping his teenage son learn to drive, cheering on his teen daughter’s latest interests, or playing games together. He and his wife also share a love of travel and are always planning their next trip to Paris.
